A 1999 Jeep Cherokee driven by Victor Valdez Jr, 32, of Spring Hill was traveling southbound on Monteverde Drive north of Saguaro Lane, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The Jeep Cherokee approached and collided into the rear of the golf cart on the dark, unmarked road, the Florida Highway Patrol report said. The golf cart overturned, ejecting its four occupants.

Wilson was critically injured and taken to Regional Medical Center Baypoint Point. His three passengers were pronounced dead at the scene.

The deceased were identified as Jennifer Boudreau, 36, and Leah Marie Kurasz, 28,  Robert Frederikson, 48, all from Spring Hill, Fla.

Valdez, thew driver of the Jeep Cherokee, was uninjured.

The investigation continues, and charges are pending. Boudreau's uncle said the family is hoping for quick answers.

"We have to see what the Florida Highway Patrol says, see who is at fault and how we can make it better," said Dan DeSplinter.

The Florida Highway Patrol said the crash does not appear to be alcohol-related.
