ST. PETERSBURG – A St. Petersburg teenager is accused of sexual battery on a 19-month-old boy.
St. Petersburg police said in a news release Sunday morning that a witness reported seeing the 14-year-old boy having inappropriate sexual contact with the child.
The incident occurred at a home in St. Petersburg on Saturday.
According to the news release, the agency’s Crimes Against Children Unit responded and talked to the teen. He was arrested on a charge of sexual battery with a child under 12.
The boy is not being identified by The Associated Press because of his age. The victim is also not being identified.
The teen was taken to a juvenile assessment center in Pinellas County.
No further details were released.
