A 13-year-old boy who was in the process of attempting to carjack a vehicle was shot by the passenger, and North Miami Beach Police are looking for the gunman.
According to police, the boy was in the process of attempting to carjack the vehicle on Tuesday at 12:14 a.m. at the 15900 block of Northeast 16th Avenue when the passenger shot him.
The boy was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive following surgery. Police say the boy will be charged accordingly in connection with the attempted carjacking.
Police say that after the shooting, three males were seen leaving the scene headed eastbound on Northeast 16th Avenue.
