DAVIE, Fla. -- Police say a wild scene in Davie last Friday, that they believe was fueled with emotions, was caught on camera.

"It's just a very strange situation, kind of a, like a lovers' triangle," said Davie Police Department Sgt. Mark Leone.

It was supposed to be a surprise party but instead, it turned into a fight in a parking lot.

"At some point, you see a white truck come around the corner... high rate of speed, right up to where they're standing."

Davie police say, as Megan Berger was getting ready to celebrate her birthday, her ex-boyfriend showed up in a rampage and attacked her current boyfriend.

Richard Madruga can be seen speeding over to the store Painting With a Twist in the 5800 block of South University Dr. in Davie, stopping short of hitting several people outside the painting studio.

He then gets out and uses two screwdrivers to attack Berger's current boyfriend, Christopher Lowery.

"The victim received some scrapes, stab wounds and had to have staples to close a wound in his head," Leone said.

Police say, despite being exes, Madruga and Berger still live together and have at least one child.

She is seen being pulled out of the car and handed off to a family member all in the middle of this parking lot brawl.

"We did locate this a, this individual and we placed him under arrest," Leone said.

Madruga was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.  He's out on a $1,500 bond.
