SpaceX launched its Falcon 9 rocket early Tuesday morning from Cape Canaveral, sending a communications satellite into orbit before landing safely on an ocean droneship.
The launch occurred at about 1:18 a.m. carrying a Indonesian-owned communication satellite, known as the Merah Putih, into space.
The name Merah Putih represents the red and white of the Indonesian flag.
The satellite will improve telecommunications throughout Indonesia, India and other areas of South and Southeast Asia.
