(WESH, NBC NEWSCHANNEL) A squirrel is dead following the second attack in less than a week reported at a Volusia County retirement community.
A resident at Sterling Court was attacked by the animal sometime Monday morning, and a staffer shot and killed the squirrel with a BB gun.
The first attack, last Thursday, left two residents and a staff member with serious bites.
Audio from a 911 call during the first incident indicated that the squirrel was jumping on people, biting and scratching them. The animal was tossed outside and escaped after the first incident.
