CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- Neighbors in a Cape Coral community were shocked Wednesday when their pool collapsed into a canal Wednesday.
The Cape Coral Fire Department responded to the scene Wednesday evening in the Snug Harbor neighborhood on Country Club Boulevard near Palm Tree Boulevard. They arrived at the Manatee Bay Apartments to find a seawall failure, allowing the pool and pool deck to sink down towards the canal.
Neighbors say the pool fell during the storm. "I was pulling out furniture from my pool; just so happened to look to my right and half the seawall is gone at our neighbor's place. I couldn't believe it; it was like going through Hurricane Charley all over again," said Dan Catch.
Fortunately there are no reports of injuries.
