(WESH, NBC NEWSCHANNEL) Police officers in Central Florida use a high speed pit maneuver to stop two robbery suspects on the run.

It happened Wednesday afternoon.

Police in Melbourne were chasing two armed robbery suspects after they received a detailed description of them from employees of a Verizon Wireless store.

When an officer spotted their small SUV speeding down Interstate 95, a long chase ensued.

Police followed the SUV for nearly 15 miles towards Osceola County.

After two unsuccessful attempts, an officer stopped the vehicle with a pit maneuver.

"These weren't amateurs. They had a plan and they knew probably what I was trying to do. So they were taking evasive maneuvers during the situation," said Melbourne Police Officer Trevor Shaffer.

The two suspects have been charged with robbery and fleeing and eluding.
