MIAMI (AP) -- Police say a woman sprayed pepper spray in the eyes of a beauty supply store employee who was showing her pricey human hair extensions.
The woman grabbed the $450 package of hair extensions while three other women grabbed more extensions before running from J & C Beauty Supply store in Miami's Wynwood neighborhood on June 22.
Miami police on Wednesday released surveillance video from the store in an effort to identify the suspects. The footage shows one of the women grabbing a cellphone before shoving the employee.
Store owner John Gao tells the Miami Herald the employee is shaken up but otherwise OK. He says he's hoping police capture the women, adding that he's had people steal from him before but "never like this."
