MIAMI (AP) — Police say a South Florida man fatally shot his wife of 33 years and then turned the gun on himself.
The Miami Herald reports that authorities identified the couple as Eddie and Shanica Harris. The couple has five adult children. The shooting happened Saturday night in the Liberty City neighborhood of Miami.
Shanica Harris died at their home. Eddie Harris was taken to a local hospital, where his condition was unknown.
A police Special Response Team was called in after officials learned there were young children in the house. Children aged 6 and 9 were taken out through a window.
More than three years ago, their son Eddie Harris Jr. was fatally shot at age 19 while walking on a city street.
