MONROE COUNTY, Fla. — The Monroe County Sheriff's Office arrested a man who they say chewed up a deputy's cruiser seat.

Deputies said they pulled over 37-year-old Melvin Stubbs Thursday night around 10 p.m. on U.S. 1 because his BMW had a very dark, illegal window tint.

MCSO said deputies went to detain Stubbs, but he took off running. The deputies said they were forced to used a Taser on him.

Deputies said they found four baggies of cocaine in a jacket Stubbs was wearing. The cocaine was 41.1 grams, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Once Stubbs was inside a deputy's cruiser, MCSO said he chewed off part of the back seat, causing $1,000 in damage.

Stubbs is now facing charges of cocaine trafficking, resisting arrest, and property damage.
