LAKELAND, Fla.-- Workers in Lakeland, Florida began taking down a Confederate monument Friday morning.

A group called Save Southern Heritage tried to block the city from moving it but a judge dismissed the lawsuit.

The monument has been at Munn Park for more than 100 years.

It is being dismantled and moved to Veterans Park where there are other tributes to people who have died in wars.
