The Florida Highway Patrol says a Hillsborough County deputy was arrested on DUI charges at Disney.
Timothy Michael Craig, 46, of Tampa, reportedly crashed his Toyota Tundra at Disney Springs just before 10 p.m. Tuesday.
When troopers arrived on scene they found Craig's truck crashed into a pedestrian bridge at Buena Vista Drive and Broadway.
They determined that the vehicle struck a stop sign before crashing into the pedestrian crosswalk bridge and then began bouncing off the pillars with the front and rear sides coming to a rest three quarters of the way through the bridge.
Orange County Fire Rescue assessed Craig and he was transported to Celebration Hospital for treatment.
Troopers located two open Fireball whiskey bottles in Craig's truck between the driver seat and the center console.
When Craig was asked about the crash, he refused to provide any information or perform a field sobriety test. After he was released from the hospital, Craig was arrested at approximately 1:07 a.m. for driving under the influence of alcohol, a chemical, or controlled substance. He was transported to the Orange County Breath Test Center where he refused a breathalyzer.
Craig was then transported to the Orange County Jail for his charge.
WFTS-TV in Tampa reached out to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office about the incident and received the following statement:
