NORTH PORT, Fla.- A North Port woman's simple symbol of support is spreading across the city.
Sally Lovick said she was sick of seeing negativity toward police so she decided to paint a blue line on her driveway to show that she stands behind them.
Lovick said she's been flooded with emails from other North Port residents wanting to show their support. She's offered to paint blue lines for anyone who wants one.
"We are here for you, we've got your back, we appreciate what you do, we love and care for you," Lovick said.
Lovick has painted dozens of driveways and the North Port Police Chief has come out to help.
Public information officer Josh Taylor said the officers appreciate the support. "This isn't an easy job, these guys are out there risking their lives every day. It's got to be comforting and I think it really does mean a lot to these guys," Taylor said.
