OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. -- The Florida Turnpike is closed in both directions due to a brush fire near the Canoe Creek Service Plaza (mile marker 225) in Osceola County.
It is not known how long the highway will be closed. Travelers are encouraged to take other routes.
Florida Highway Patrol says smoke conditions are making it unsafe to travel through the areas affected by the fire.
