PENSACOLA, Fla. (AP) — Authorities say a toddler has been found dead inside a vehicle near a Florida apartment complex.

The Pensacola News Journal reports that the 2-year-old child was discovered Wednesday afternoon near the Aqua Porta Apartments in Pensacola.

Investigators didn't immediately release the identity of the child or the car's owner.

Assistant State Attorney John Molchan says prosecutors are working closely with the Escambia County Sheriff's Office, but he wouldn't say what caused the child's death.

No criminal charges were immediately reported.
