COCOA, Fla. -- A Florida high school football star recently made the catch of a lifetime. But it wasn't on the gridiron.
Josh Padrick of Cocoa reeled in a huge alligator.
His family owns and operates an alligator hunting business.
"My dream is to come back after college and getting my master's degree in business is to come back and kind of run this and expand it more from a Central Florida business to a nationally-known business," Padrick said.
He said he knew he was in for an adventure when he saw the gator's head poking through the water. "We initially saw the alligator's head and we were able to realize that this is going to be a big alligator."
He called the experience an "adrenaline rush."
While massive in size, the 12' 6" alligator he caught did not break any records. The largest gator caught in Florida was more than 14 feet long.
