Dozens of families in Polk County were evacuated early Wednesday due to a nearby fire at a pallet plant in Haines City.
Haines City Fire Department is on the scene at Monison Pallets, located at 3100 US Highway 17.

The call came in just before 2:40 a.m. on Wednesday.

A Haines City Firefighter suffered minor injuries while running a hose to the fire.
Just before 8 a.m., the evacuation order was lifted.
Polk County school district says the closure of the road has delayed some students from being picked up for school. The bus routes have been affected due to the fire.
Officials opened the road just after 9 a.m.
Once the road is safe for travel, Polk County buses began picking up students at their stops who have not yet been transported to their schools. Parents will be updated via automated calling system.
