DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) -- A woman who was training as a bookkeeper for a Florida beachfront motel is accused of taking off with the goods -- $18,710 and her personnel file.

Daytona Beach police officers caught up with 32-year-old Laura Chadwick, arresting her Sunday on a grand theft charge.

Eszter Tuboly, a manager at the Sea Dip Beach Resort, said Chadwick had worked there for three to four weeks when she asked to make a deposit run.

The Daytona Beach News-Journal reports the manager told police she didn't feel comfortable letting Chadwick make the deposit on July 19 because she was a new employee. But her boss said she should.

Chadwick never returned to work, saying her mother had a stroke.
