MARION COUNTY, Fla. — A suspect in central Florida found out the hard way what happens when you run from law enforcement.

According to a post on the Marion County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, a deputy was on patrol last week when he spotted a man wanted on multiple warrants.

He then requested backup from another deputy and his K9.

The sheriff’s office said when the suspect, identified as William Ames, saw the deputies, he started running.

That’s when the K9, named Tipster, and his handler went to work tracking Ames.

Video shows Tipster using his keen sense of smell to track and eventually find Ames in a wooded area. Once Tipster finds the suspect and jumps on him, Ames starts screaming repeatedly.

Ames said that he thought due to the coronavirus that law enforcement wasn’t looking for wanted individuals.

He was arrested and faces multiple charges including resisting an officer without violence.
