Florida man arrested after calling police over wrong Checkers order

Posted

If you’re not happy with your fast food order, don’t call 911.

A Polk County man just learned that the hard way.

John May, 53, of Winter Haven called 911 on Sunday to complain that he received the wrong food from Checkers, according to Winter Haven Police Department.

May told police he had a run-in with the manager in the drive-thru over it, according to a recording of the call.

“She actually closed the window on me,” he said, “so that insubordination.”

May acknowledged to responding officers the situation wasn’t an emergency, police said, but he wanted officers to get the manager to get his order correct.

Officers say when they arrived he’d already eaten more than half his food.

May was booked in to Polk County Jail on a charge of misusing 911.
