MILTON, Fla. — A Florida man overheard threatening to kill someone "with kindness" was arrested after he allegedly cut a man with a machete with the word "kindness" on it, authorities said.

Bryan Duane Stewart, 30, was arrested Jan. 10 on charges including aggravated assault with a weapon and aggravated battery, according to Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office Jail records.

The Pensacola News Journal reported that Stewart used the "machete-style knife" on his neighbor, after the neighbor came to his home over concern about the number of people in Stewart's house.

According to an arrest report, Stewart was heard telling someone in the house that he was going to "kill 'em with kindness." Stewart raised the knife but was blocked by another neighbor, who suffered a half-inch cut on his hand, the report said.

Stewart was arrested and booked into jail, where he remained held on $10,000 bond Monday, records showed. Attorney information wasn't available.
