The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says that dozens of people in nine states have fallen ill due to a salmonella outbreak caused by eggs.
As of May 10, the CDC reports that 35 illnesses have been reported across Colorado, Florida, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia. Eleven people have been hospitalized due to the outbreak.

Rose Acre Farms in Indiana voluntarily recalled 206,749,248 eggs due to potential contamination with Salmonella Braenderup, the Food and Drug Administration said in a statement.
"Consumers with these eggs shouldn't eat them," FDA Commissioner Scott Gottlieb said. "Throw them away or return them to place of purchase for credit or refund."
Brands affected include Country Daybreak, Coburn Farms, Crystal Farms, Cal-Maine Foods, Inc., Sunshine Farms and Glenview, with some eggs sold at Walmart, Publix and Food Lion stores.
Symptoms of Salmonella include diarrhea, fever, and abdominal cramps.
