A boat captain in Florida got an up-close view of a great white shark off the coast of Jacksonville on Saturday morning.
Capt. Chad Starling said he and a group were bottom fishing for red snapper about 11 miles off the coast.
As he was reeling in the fish, a 12-foot great white appeared before he could get the snapper out of the water.
Starling told WJAX-TV in Jacksonville that he sees sharks frequently, but this is only the second time in 10 years he has spotted a great white.
"Incredible day. It stands true, you never know what you will see when you're on the sea!" Starling said in a Facebook post.
