HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. --A dog who got stuck in a central Florida lake is back home with its family after being rescued by a sheriff's deputy.
Video from the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office shows deputy Matt Patellis wading into the murky water to help the trapped boxer.
Deputy Patellis responded to a call from the dog's owner, saying the poor guy was crying on the far side of the lake.
The dog eventually swims back with the deputy and makes it out safely.
Back on dry land, the dog thanks to the deputy with tiny tail wags and a lot of snuggles.
