JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Authorities in Florida have captured a man who police say had disguised himself as a woman before robbing a New Orleans bank.
The FBI said in a news release that 22-year-old Dwayne A. Winans, also known as "Butter," was arrested Tuesday night at a bus station in Jacksonville.
Investigators say Winans wore a long black wig, heavy make-up and female attire when he entered a Fidelity Bank on Aug. 4 and gave a teller a note demanding money. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, Winans fled and jumped into a getaway car.
Authorities say Winans committed a carjacking in New Orleans a week later.
It is unclear whether Winans has an attorney as well as what charges he is facing.
