A homicide investigation is underway after a man reportedly threw a rock at an elderly man's car, then intentionally ran him over in a pickup truck at Everglades Holiday Park in Weston.

Broward Sheriff's deputies say it happened around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the boat ramp area of the park, which is located at 21940 Griffin Road.

A witness told NBC 6 that he saw the men get into a verbal argument, and claims to have heard the driver yell a "racial-laced tirade at the man."

BSO says the suspect threw a rock at the victim's car then intentionally ran him over.

The 81-year-old victim was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital, but later died from his injuries. His name has not been released.

Detectives said they're searching for a white Ford F-150 truck. The suspect is described as a white male in his 20's. He was pulling a 10 to 12-foot John boat with a mud prop and blacked-out motor.

Anyone with information on this incident is urged to call Crime Stoppers at (954) 493-TIPS.
