MARION COUNTY, Fla. -- A woman nearly drowned after plowing over a fire hydrant during a drunken joy ride.

Emergency crews say 22-year-old Alexandrea Runyon smashed into a fire hydrant, causing water to spill out so fast her car was swallowed into a watery hole.

The sinkhole was said to be 8-feet deep and 20-feet wide.

Some good Samaritans tried to help but the hole opened under.

Fortunately, no one was hurt.

Crews were able to rescue Runyon and the woman who tried to help her.
