A South Florida animal rescue is looking for a forever home for a dog who was severely burned, possibly by fireworks.

The dog, named Adonis, sustained blisters and bad burns all across his back. Veterinarians from Coral Springs Animal Hospital said he was possibly attacked by fire or fireworks over the holiday weekend.

"He is literally missing chunks of his back," said Amy Roman.

Roman, president and founder of 100+ Abandoned Dogs of Everglades, said Adonis will spend a few nights at the hospital to receive proper medical attention.

"I surely love to know where he was found, and I love to know anybody that has any information on what happened to this dog Adonis," Roman said. "I would love to press charges."

The organization is covering his medical expenses, which are up to $5,000. Anyone who would like to help donate should visit 100plusabandoneddogsofevergladesflorida.org.
