BUSHNELL, Fla. — If the thoughts of airports and security lines are enough to make you consider skipping a summer vacation, then a staycation might be just the thing you need.
And if you're looking for a peaceful staycation away from the noise, you might want to jump in your car and head north to a bed & breakfast in Sumter County, Florida.
The Cypress House Ranch B&B feels like a journey into the Old West -- a place where you can hear the birds and take a break from the hectic pace to relax for a while.
"We're a working horse ranch. A place to get back and unplug," said Amy Griffing, the owner of Cypress House Ranch B&B.
The bed and breakfast opened up in the 1990s and people from Palm Beach County have been going there for years.
"I think if you took our blood pressure before we got here and then when we leave, I promise you it would be lower," said Dianne Strock from Jupiter.
There are a few rooms in the back house or there is an option to stay in the main cabin.
There's also a fire pit to cook food and plenty of places to sit back and watch the animals.
"The eggs are so fresh from the local farms. They might have been laid today," said Griffing.
A recent time off study found employees in the United States left 705 million vacation days on the table, and 212 million days did not roll over to the next year. S
So, if you're looking to use a couple of vacation days and want stress-free country living, head north to the Cypress House.
