DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. -- A crash on the Florida Turnpike southbound had all lanes blocked near Deerfield Beach for a time Tuesday morning.

Lanes have since reopened.

The crash was located near mile marker 71 near the Sawgrass Expressway.

The Florida Highway Patrol has learned a utility truck traveling northbound on the Turnpike had a tire blowout and lost control.

The truck, driven by Rudolph A. Coombs, 53, of Miami Gardens, struck a concrete barrier continued over the wall and collided with a car traveling southbound, FHP said.

Investigators said two other vehicles struck pieces of concrete which were scattered along the road.

FHP said one person suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital.
