MIAMI-- Firefighters rescued a coyote found swimming in South Florida's Biscayne Bay Tuesday morning.

The animal didn't make it easy on rescuers who tried to catch it near the seawall Tuesday morning -- before it swam farther out.

Eventually, they were able to pull it on a boat and get the coyote dried off.

A firefighter told WPLGthat it's not uncommon to see coyotes at the Port of Miami and he believes the animal was chasing prey when it fell off the seawall.

The station also said that FWC decided the coyote will be euthanized.
