Hollywood Police have arrested one suspect and are searching for another after they were allegedly involved in a machete attack last weekend.

It happened around 2 a.m. on Saturday, March 26, at Mamacita's Mexican Bar & Grill located at 591 North Broadwalk in Hollywood.

Police said Cedi Pacheco, 36, approached two patrons who were seated at a table at the restaurant and attacked them with a large machete. Both victims suffered serious injuries and were transported to Memorial Regional Hospital where they underwent treatment.

According to the police report, the attack began as a fist fight over a girl. Pacheco allegedly then went to his vehicle, grabbed the machete and went back to the restaurant in a fit of rage. The report says he struck one of the victims with the machete a dozen times.

Pacheco fled the scene with at least two other subjects and engaged Hollywood Police officers in a vehicle pursuit. The chase went into Miami-Dade County and ended in the 2400 block of Northwest 26th Street in Miami.

Police said two subjects immediately fled from the vehicle and a third remained on scene and surrendered without incident. Pacheco was apprehended with the assistance of the Hollywood K-9 Unit. One suspect remains at large.

Pacheco has been charged with attempted murder, eluding police, resisting arrest and obstructing officers. There's no word on whether he has an attorney.

Hollywood Police are requesting the assistance from the public in providing information related to additional suspects who may have been involved in the attack. They are also looking for any witnesses who may have been at Mamacita's during the attack to come forward.

Anyone with information should contact the Hollywood Police Department at (954) 967-4411 or Crime Stoppers at (954) 493-TIPS.
