The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission will soon accept applications for the next alligator hunting season, which runs from Aug. 15 to Nov. 1.
Residents have to be at least 18-years-old by Aug. 15 to participate in the hunt and have a valid credit or debit card.
Applications can be submitted at any county tax collector's office or licensed agent or online.
The application period for the random drawing begins May 6 at 10 a.m. and runs through May 16. More than 5,000 alligator hunting permits will be available.
FWC says hunters can submit their application with choices of up to 20 hunt areas and periods.
