FORT MYERS, Fla. (AP) -- A fourth man has been charged in a Christmas Eve boat theft that started a 345-mile boat chase across the Gulf of Mexico.

Alexis J. Vazquez of Cape Coral is being held at the Lee County jail on $1 million bond. The 35-year-old is charged with felony larceny.

The sheriff's office tells the News-Press that Vazquez was arrested Tuesday after attempting to recover a boat, vehicle and boat trailer that were allegedly used in the theft and impounded by authorities.

Jail records don't show whether Vazquez has an attorney.

According to a sheriff's report, one of the other suspects told deputies he had been paid $3,000 to come to Fort Myers and take the stolen boat to Mexico.

Each of the other suspects is held on at least $1.25 million bail.
