DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. — A 5-year-old girl has died a day after she was in a car crash on Interstate 95 that also killed her 2-year-old sister, her family said. According to NBC 6, in a Facebook post Monday night, Annette Bennet said her daughter, Keanna, "fought a good fight this past 24 hours. She gain her precious little wings ... Thanks for all your prayers but it is DONE."
The crash occurred at 10:45 a.m. Sunday on I-95 southbound near the Sample Road exit, closing all lanes for multiple hours.
Officials said neither children were wearing any restraint devices.

The girls were riding in a 2014 Toyota Corolla driven by a 34-year-old woman from Deerfield Beach, who also suffered serious injuries.
The FHP report did not state the relationship between the woman and the two girls.
The other vehicle involved in the wreck was a 2019 Kia Forte driven by a 26-year-old man from Illinois. He sustained serious injuries and was taken to North Broward Hospital.
The crash is currently under investigation. Charges are pending.
