LAKE COUNTY, Fla. (WFTV/CNN) — Deputies are investigating after a 13-year-old boy and a 26-year-old man were found dead in Lake County.
Around 3:20 a.m., deputies said they pulled behind what they thought was a disabled vehicle on the side of the road on County Road 437.
Deputies said they found Jesus Pantoja, 26, and Christopher Gutierrez, 13, dead in the bed of a pickup truck. Their family says they were uncle and nephew.
Oscar Rodriguez said his brother Pantoja didn’t have any enemies.
“It was hard to believe for us someone would do something like that,” Rodriguez said.
The family is asking for help with funeral expenses. They have created aGoFundMe page that can be found here.
Deputies said they noticed signs of trauma to their bodies.
Investigators have not released very many details in the case. It is unknown what kind of trauma the victims suffered.
