Students who attended received a backpack full of supplies, a haircut and a new uniform.
"They can be prepared to enter school on Monday without the worry of having those essential items, so they can be prepared and ready to learn," said Pahokee city manger Tammy Jackson-Moore.
A lot of parents here are not fortunate to have school supplies that they need today, and this will help out," said parent Kathy Dent.
Organizers said they hope to continue the event at the start of every school year.
