PAHOKEE, Fla. — A 31-year-old woman died and two others were injured in a two-vehicle crash early Sunday between Pahokee and Canal Point, Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office and Palm Beach County Fire Rescue said.
At 6:54 a.m., crews responded to reports of a car crash at the 34000 block of Conners Highway, east of Lake Okeechobee in northwest Palm Beach County, PBFR said.
Units reported two vehicles with heavy damage and one on its roof.
A 2010 Mazda 3 driven by Elisa Hope Weisberg, 33, of Hollywood was southbound on the highway when for unknown reasons she lost control of the vehicle, left the roadway and struck a guardrail, PBSO said in a report.
The Mazda went back onto the road and hit a 2002 Dodge driven by Kenneth Ray Brown, 59, of Royal Palm Beach, that was northbound.
Paramedics pronounced Weisberg dead at the scene
Brown and a passenger in the Mazda, Suzanne Martha Ricci, 54, were taken to
Lakeside Medical Center in Fort Pierce with minor injuries.
