BELLE GLADE, Fla. -- A man was transported by Trauma Hawk to a hospital after being shot Friday afternoon between Belle Glade and Pahokee.
Palm Beach County Fire Rescue crews responded to reports of a possible shooting at 1:20 p.m. near State Road 715 and Hooker Highway.
First arriving firefighters and deputies located one adult male with multiple gunshot wounds.
Detectives learned that the victim was driving on State Road 715 when a car traveling in the same direction started firing multiple rounds of gunfire striking the victim and the vehicle. The victim pulled over and called for help.
The victim is currently at a local trauma hospital where he is listed in critical condition.
On December 6, 2019, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Dontoria Bennett on the charge of Attempted First Degree Murder with a firearm.
She is being held at the Palm Beach County Jail without bond.
The investigation is still active and ongoing.
