2 people killed in St. Lucie County crash after vehicle hits multiple trees, utility pole

WHITE CITY, Fla. — Two people from Fort Pierce were killed in a single-vehicle crash early Friday morning in St. Lucie County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The wreck occurred at 2:50 a.m. on S 25th Street near Oak Alley in White City.

The FHP report said Devaurius Wyche, 42, of Fort Pierce was driving a 2006 Volvo S60 southbound on S 25th Street in the outside lane.

For unknown reasons, Wyche traveled off the road to the right, hitting multiple trees and a wood utility light pole.

Wyche and a front passenger, identified as Virginia Brown, 33, of Fort Pierce, were pronounced dead at the scene.

A 38-year-old woman sitting in the backseat was transported to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.

FHP said the case is still pending investigation.
