An encounter with a shark drew blood for a person in the water in St. Lucie County Monday, according to St Lucie County Fire Chief Buddy Emerson.
He says they agency responded to a call for a shark bite and when crews arrived at Normandy Beach they found a person who was bleeding from the ankle.
Emerson says the shark hit but did not bite the victim.
Paramedics treated the wound.
