UPDATE: The city will stop handing out sandbags at 10 a.m. Thursday.
EARLIER:
The city of Port St. Lucie will provide sandbags to city residents Thursday. Residents must show proof they are a resident of Port St. Lucie.
The Public Works facility at 430 SW Thornhill Dr. was set to begin passing them out at 7 a.m. Thursday.
The city says residents who need sandbags delivered can call 772-871-5100 to make arrangements. There is a limit of 20 per resident.
The city says staff member plan to be available to deliver sandbags to residents until winds reach 39 mph, or the sandbags run out.

West Palm Beach does not provide sandbags to the public.
Palm Beach County might hand out sandbags after the storm. But there are no current plans to do so.
