PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. — A Port St. Lucie police officer went above and beyond earlier this week to help a man in a wheelchair mow his lawn.

The police department posted photos on its Facebook page showing the generous act of kindness.

According to the post, Sgt. Kenny saw the man trying to weed wack his property in the 1800 block of SW Norman Lane on Wednesday, and pulled over to lend a hand.

Sgt. Kenny took the weed wacker and kindly finished the work.

"I am grateful and happy to have been able to help the man," said Sgt. Kenny. "I don't want any attention drawn to me, this is not about me. The opportunity was a blessing, making it a great day yesterday."

Thank you Sgt. Kenny and all of our law enforcement officers for serving our communities so bravely and selflessly!
