Police search for smash-and-grab car burglary suspects in Port St. Lucie

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. -- Police are looking for a man and a woman they say stole a purse from a car in Port St. Lucie.

Surveillance footage on October 21, 2016 at 7:40 p.m. shows a late model silver Toyota Camry 4-door with tinted windows enter the parking lot of Anytime Fitness at 240 SW Port St. Lucie Boulevard.

After driving through the parking lot, the video shows the suspect's car park next to the victim's car.

Police say a black man wearing a black t-shirt with white lettering on it exited his car and used an unknown object, possibly a "window punch", to shatter the passenger side window of the victim's car.

The woman reached into the vehicle and stole the victim's purse, which contained credit and debit cards, according to Port St. Lucie police.

The driver of the suspect car is described as heavy set black woman wearing a white top and blue jeans.
