In Port St. Lucie, there's an effort underway to bring a piece of history to the region, and turn it into the area's newest attraction.
The "Friends of Lucy Carousel" kicked off their efforts at Tradition town hall to drum up support for their vision.
The goal is to raise $1.9 million to bring a carousel from 1920 to the area.
If there is support it would take another 2 to 3 years to completely refurbish the carousel, which right now sits in a Georgia warehouse.
As for where the carousel would be placed, one idea is in Tradition Square… but supporters say anywhere in the region would be great.
