PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. – A day after being postponed, the graduation for Port St. Lucie High School seniors took place Wednesday.
Tuesday’s ceremony was scheduled for 7 p.m. but had to be delayed due to rough weather.
Students, family and friends filed into the Adams Arena at the St. Lucie County Fairgrounds Wednesday morning.
Many were grateful the ceremony was postponed.
"Yea, because I think the traffic would have been really backed up; people could have gotten in crashes or gotten hurt,” said John Donnelly.
"It's a lot better today because yesterday was not a bright day. It's really nice today. It was dangerous it was really dark outside it was not a good day (yesterday),” said Jalisa Jones.
Unfortunately some were able to attend the graduation because of work.
More than 300 students walked across the stage. The next high school to graduate is Treasure Coast High. Commencement is tonight at 7.
