On SW Cameo Boulevard in Port St. Lucie sits the home of a Gold Star family. It's a home with love poured into it.
"All an outpouring of love from their community," says Lyette Reback.
Since Tuesday, Lyette and dozens of volunteers have worked tirelessly to give the home a make over.
Linda and Clay Schumann live in that home. They planned to renovate the place back in 2011, but renovations were put on hold with the loss of their son Jordan. He was killed while serving overseas.
Five years later, Lyette and the community decided they wanted to finish the job for them.
Volunteers did a full renovation including new windows and a new deck.
Sunday night Linda and Clay came back to their brand new home.
"I didn't expect this. I did not know know what to expect," says Clay Schumann. "Really touched my heart and reinforced how important it is for us to be a community."
Their renovations are complete, but Lyette says there's more to it.
"I hope everyday people will drive past here and they'll see that Gold Star, and they'll know that means a Gold Star family has lost a loved one in the service of the nations military lives here."
