A driver who pulled a gun and fired it at a car that he said had crashed into him and left the scene is under arrest, according to the Port St. Lucie Police Department.

Investigators say Monday night a car driven by Jason Abinader, 31, was involved in a collision with a couple leaving Neely’s Grog House on Bayshore Boulevard.

Police say Abinader told them the vehicle didn’t stop so he followed it and pulled out a gun to get them to stop, firing one shot into the air and another into their tire.

At the intersection of NW Bayshore Boulevard and NW Prima Vista Boulevard Abinader was able to block the couple’s vehicle and fired three more shots at their tire to prevent them from leaving, according to a police report.

A woman driving the other car claims that while she was leaving the bar Abinader hit her vehicle. She said when she pulled over to exchange information Abinader pulled a gun and pointed it at her head. She said she continued to drive because she was afraid.

Her husband was in the passenger seat and he said the crash happened as they were leaving the bar’s parking lot. He claims that when they tried to pull off the road Abinader starting shooting.

All three were later interviewed by a detective at the Port St. Lucie Police Department.

Police ended up arresting Abinader and charged him with 2 counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, shooting at an occupied vehicle and discharging a firearm in public.
