A brazen burglar smashed through a glass door and stole three cash register drawers at a gas station in Port St. Lucie Tuesday morning, according to police.

The thief targeted the BP Amoco Gas Station at 2091 SW Gatlin Boulevard and left in a waiting light-colored 4-door car heading west on SW Gatlin Boulevard toward I-95, police said.

A detective later found the cash drawers on three different interstate on and off ramps.

The suspect is described as a man with a medium complexion who is about 5’6”-5’8” tall with a medium build. He was wearing a white cap, and white long sleeve shirt.

Detectives think the burglar and an accomplice committed three other smash and grab burglaries that same day. Two were in St. Lucie County and one was in Martin County.

If you have any information you are urged to contact the Port St. Lucie Police Department at (772) 871-5001 or Treasure Coast Crime Stoppers at 1-800-273 TIPS.
